Can You Prove Me Wrong about Gun Control?
The Republicans are at it again. They want a Federal law to override state laws on guns. They want people to be able to carry guns across state lines no matter what the states want. These Conservatives (supposedly the party of God) want more killing.
England, with enlightened gun laws, have 10 gun deaths per year. Canada has about 800. The U.S. has 14,000, yet they want less control of guns. As usual they are short-sighted. Their slogan “If you take guns away from outlaws, only outlaws will have guns” only works in the short-term. But what about the future? Conservatives are lousy at “seeing” the future. These greedy people want everything for now and can’t see the future benefits of gun control. And of course they are controlled by the gun lobbies.
Remember Bush’s proud veto of stem cell research and his desire to drill, drill, drill; while denying climate change? And the Republican’s short-sighted approach to health care is “only those who can afford it should have it.” This is why they are bad for the future of the human race. For all of the gun deaths now and in the future, the blood is on their hands. How would their God like that?
A mandatory life sentence for crimes involving guns would eventually end this problem. The “little people” who buy the conservative spin doctor’s sayings are fools. It is time for the little people to see that the Republicans only listen to lobbyists for big business!
What is the larger problem in the U.S., terrorism or guns? Do facts matter? Since 1980, about 3400 people have died in terrorists attacks. About 3000 died in the Twin Towers on 9/11. In the same 33 years, about 2,700,000 Americans have been shot - with 900,000 deaths! No Christian can morally support this. Do you hear me NRA members?
Every person we meet should be the source of a new exchange of values and ideas, without the fear of religious or nationalistic notions interfering with the meeting.
